With a dynamic variety of programs including Belly Dance, Muay Thai Kick Boxing, Filipino Martial Arts, Silat, Hapkido, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do; there is a wide variety of ways to make exercise and working out a fun and unique learning experience.

 

 

 

Kali is a weapon based system, putting emphasis on using anything as a weapon, and translating weapon motions into empty hand. Learn more about Filipino Martial Arts and Kali.

JKD is an art and a philosophy developed by Sijo Bruce Lee. JKD is tailor-made to each individual practitioner.
Muay Thai is a kickboxing art from Thailand. It is often called “the King of the Ring” for its very effective striking techniques.

Panantukan, also called ‘Dirty Boxing,’ comes to us from the Philippines.  Movement and techniques in this style of boxing is infamous for changing Western boxing – making it what we know, today!

Our Grappling class offers advanced instruction in combat grappling involving striking and clinch. Learn to take control and gain advantage over your opponent for survival, whether your goals are for physical fitness, self defense, competition or camaraderie this class will fit your needs.

Self Defense education and preparation requires a multifaceted approach that addresses education, awareness, avoidance, and violent encounter survival training. If you are concerned about your personal safety or the safety of your loved ones, contact us about our self-defense training. 

Belly Dance – Belly dance is primarily a torso-driven dance, with an emphasis on articulations of the hips. Unlike many Western dance forms, the focus of the dance is on relaxed, natural isolation of the torso muscles. This is a great exercise with low-impact but great movement for your spine and joints!  Come visit a Beginner class on Thursday evenings at the BoBMA Gym, with instructors Inaya Noire and Moirne!
 

Hapkido

Hapkido is a Korean martial art that is characterized by joint locks, throws, and dynamic kicking techniques.  It is a way of coordinated power with unique emphasis on deflecting an opponent’s attacks instead of forceful blocking.

Spring 2018

Instructor Scott Williams is now offering a kids’ class called Lil Hawks on Mondays at 5:00 pm. Adult Hapkido Class begins shortly after at 6:00 pm, on Mondays. Come visit and try two weeks of classes!

What art is best for me?
Everyone has personal tastes, and they often change over time. We suggest all our members try out our classes and see what they like best. As you get more fit and experienced you may find yourself wanting to try more of our programs, but the journey starts with you!
What equipment do I need?
If you’re just starting out with Band of Brothers Martial Arts group, Hapkido or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, we’ve got you covered!  New students can use the onsite equipment so classes are stress-free and quick to jump into.  Our instructors will take care of you, and guide you through the process of placing your first training gear orders when you are ready.

Belly Dance fitness classes offer fun and colorful hip scarves – with plenty of bling and jingle – so you can practice new techniques and listen to those shimmies in action!  Inaya Noire will work with you on any costuming and belly dance accessories needs.
